Snyder Village Announces New Executive Director

After 34 years serving at the non-profit organization, Snyder Village Executive Director Keith Swartzentruber has announced plans to retire by December 31, 2022. Throughout the last several months, the Board of Directors and a designated search committee have met to develop a transition process, screen applicants, and interview candidates. Snyder Village is pleased to announce that Janelle Clark has accepted the position of executive director and will begin in the role on August 1, 2022.

With over 20 years’ experience working in long-term care, Janelle will be bringing much wisdom and experience to Snyder Village. Janelle is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Master of Arts degree in Gerontology. She has served as an executive director, health center administrator, and a director of Assisted Living. She is a licensed nursing home administrator, a certified aging services professional, and a certified dementia practitioner. Janelle is a former board member of the Heart of Illinois Senior Games & the Arts and Tazewell County TRIAD.

She is a proud mom of two children, ages 22 and 17. In her free time, Janelle enjoys attending family events, spending time outdoors working in her yard, and walking around her neighborhood.

“I am excited to return to a mission-driven and faith-based Life Plan Community with a full continuum of care,” says Janelle.

“While it is never easy to replace a founding executive director, we look forward to all that Janelle will bring to the organization. We embrace the change this transition will bring for Keith and his family, as well as new opportunities for Snyder Village,” says Greg Minger, Snyder Village Board President.

“I’m excited to have Janelle joining our team at Snyder Village!  Her commitment to our mission, experience at non-profit facilities like Snyder Village, and the personal interest she shows in her residents and staff make her an excellent choice to lead Snyder Village,” says Keith Swartzentruber.

The Snyder Village community is grateful for Keith’s many years of service and leadership and looks forward to Janelle joining the Snyder Village team for the next chapter of the organization.
